Comparing Different Builds of the Same Document Revision

Each time a new build is created and saved for a revision of a Document record, the system maintains a reference to those saved builds in the Document History link > Content History tab. A comparison of these builds can be performed from the application.

NOTE: The document type must be configured to keep a copy of every build in order to use this functionality. See Configuring Document Type to Keep A copy of Every Build for configuration information.

  1. From the Document record, in the document tree on the left side of the record, click the Document History link.
Result: The Document History window is displayed.
  2. Click the Content History tab.
  3. Check the checkboxes of the builds to be compared.

NOTE: The first build selected is the source while the second one selected is the document it is being compared against.

  1. Click Action > Compare.
Result: The document is displayed. All differences are marked.
